- Children whose parents are considered essential workers as listed, cannot work from home and where no other supervision arrangements can be made.
- Vulnerable children, including children in out-of-home care, children deemed by Child Protection and/or Family Services to be at risk of harm and children identified by the school as vulnerable (including via referral from a family violence agency, homelessness or youth justice service or mental health or other health service).
Due to the sudden nature of the lockdown, we have not been able to prepare for home learning during this time. These are some things that you could encourage your children to do: spend some time reading, writing, drawing, exercising outdoors and playing family games. Re-assure your children that they are safe and that we will soon be back at school doing all the things we love.
Welcome to the Mother of God School website. We are a Catholic school for people of all faiths founded upon Brigidine values of inclusion and justice. We are currently taking enrolments for 2021 and 2022. We would love for your child and family to join our community. If you would like to know more, please ring the school at 93631734 to book a school tour. Alternatively, you can email me on principal@mogardeer.catholic.edu.au to express interest. - Assunta Iacovino
Mother of God School is a small school where everyone is known by name. Our community respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri people, the traditional owners of the land on which our school is built. We are proud of our programs, facilities and digital technologies, but we are most proud of the delightful young people who help make our school a great place to come to every day. We are one of two Catholic Schools in the parish of Albion, and was established in 1955 by the Brigidine Sisters. Although there is no longer a Brigidine presence on staff, the Brigidine Core Values continue to guide our ethos and practice. We endeavour to "welcome all people, especially the most vulnerable." You are invited to come and see. All are welcome in our school.
The MOGs school community has finished taking part in creating a digital comic book, What We Learned by Learning at Home. This comic book contains drawings illustrated by students from three different schools and shows insights into what learning was like during this remarkable time of remote learning for 2020.
The digital comic book, is also available to be watched as a short movie here.
Thank you very much to our Visual Art teacher, Deb Quadri for helping co-ordinate and lead our students in taking part in this program.
Mother of God School has in place a robust digital technology infrastructure to help deliver digital At Home Learning for students and families in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please visit our At Home Learning Parent Portal web page to find out how you can support your child's learning at home during this time.
