Family School Partnerships

Mother of God School is supported by the Family School Partnership program. The program supports our endeavours to strengthen learning partnerships between our school and families by building the capacity of parents to actively engage in their children's learning. Greg Woolford works with our school in developing programs to support families in this endeavour.

At Mother of God we do this by:

  • Parent Forums that focus on developing a shared understanding (parents, students and staff) of contemporary learning.

  • School Community Garden: the school community garden currently is the focus of our whole-school horticulture and sustainability program (Prep-6). Our aim is to develop an ownership of the garden by our families.

  • Home Visits: teachers visit their student's family homes at the start of the year to get to know the students and their families in an informal manner. This helps to establish our strong school-family partnerships for the year.
