How does Restorative Practice Works?
How does Restorative Practice Works?
The students are empowered to own their behaviour.
The students involved agree that a conflict or argument has taken place and try to fix things up.
All those involved have a chance to tell their side of the story.
Each student has a chance to say how the problem could be resolved.
An agreement is reached.
It may still involve discipline procedures – accepting consequences for their wrong doing.
Relationships are healed wherever possible. Students are encouraged to seek and give genuine forgiveness. Time is allowed if necessary for this to occur.
The focus is on MOVING FORWARD and ‘STARTING AGAIN’.
